What JAMB actually requires from a CBT centre
Most schools underestimate the spec. An accredited JAMB centre isn't "a room of computers" — it's a defined technical standard, and inspection fails on the details. Here's what a compliant lab needs:
- 250 functional systems plus 10% (25) tested backups, in no more than two halls.
- A server sized for 250 concurrent candidates — the exam runs off it, so it can't be an afterthought.
- Cabled LAN throughout — every system hard-wired; wireless is not permitted.
- Power that carries the whole room — a generator plus UPS/inverters holding every system for 2+ hours, switches on UPS.
- CCTV coverage of the hall for remote monitoring, tested antivirus, and up-to-date Windows on every unit.
