Thin Clients for CBT Labs, Schools & Exam Centres

A CBT centre needs many working seats at the lowest cost per seat, not many powerful computers. Thin clients are the purpose-built answer, and Dell Wyse units are the single deepest line in our Lagos warehouse — which means a full lab can be supplied from stock rather than assembled over months.

Why thin clients beat full PCs for exam labs

An exam seat needs to display the test, accept input and stay up for the session. It does not need a fast local processor or a big local disk. Thin clients strip out what the seat does not need, which cuts three costs at once: the purchase price per seat, the electricity bill for a room running dozens of machines all day, and the failure rate. Units such as the Wyse 3040 have no fan and no spinning drive, so the two components that usually fail in a hot Nigerian computer room are simply absent.

Cost per seat and power draw

For a fifty-seat CBT hall the arithmetic that matters is cost per seat and watts per seat. Thin clients typically draw a fraction of a desktop tower, which matters directly when the room runs on a generator or an inverter for part of the day. Fewer moving parts also means fewer mid-exam failures, which is the risk that actually costs a centre its accreditation and its bookings.

Supplying a whole lab from stock

Because this is our deepest line, we can usually supply a matched room — the same model across every seat — rather than a mixture assembled from whatever arrived. A matched room means one image, one power supply type, one spare pool and one support routine. Tell us the seat count and we will confirm what can ship now and what follows. See the JAMB CBT centre setup guide and CBT centre supply.

Schools and training centres

The same logic applies to a school computer room or a training centre: many simple seats, low running cost, minimal maintenance. Where pupils handle the machines directly, pair thin clients with rugged education laptops such as the HP ProBook x360 11 G1 EE. See CBT and training centre supply, or ask us directly.

Pay monthly for a lab build

A lab is a capital purchase, and centres often earn the money back over an exam season. Redivivis credit lets you spread it: complete a short financial-strength check and KYC in the Portal to get an indicative deposit and tenor before committing. See financing IT equipment.

Tested, graded, warranty-backed

Every unit is tested, data-wiped and graded on a clear cosmetic and functional scale, with paperwork ready for business buyers. See how we grade and our returns and RMA process. The grade is the promise — you know the condition before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

How many thin clients can you supply at once?

Thin clients are the deepest single line in our warehouse, so a full lab can normally be supplied as a matched set from stock. Tell us your seat count and we confirm what ships now.

Are thin clients suitable for JAMB CBT centres?

Yes. They are built for exactly this pattern: many simple seats, low power draw, no fans or spinning drives to fail mid-session. See our JAMB CBT centre setup guide.

What do I need besides the thin clients?

A host or server side, networking, monitors, keyboards and mice, and power. We supply those from our other lines and can quote the room as a whole.

Do you publish prices per seat?

No. Pricing is set per buyer segment and confirmed before invoice. Register in the Portal or request a quote with your seat count.

Can a centre pay monthly?

Yes, subject to a financial-strength check and KYC, with deposit and tenor shown before you commit.
